Digital economy: new exciting degree programme launched in Katowice

The newly announced degree programme has been developed in response to the increasing role of technology and digital resources in business, administration and other fields of work as well as socio-economic life. It aims to equip students with digital competencies (e.g. basic programming or data analysis and visualization skills), which are essential to thrive in today’s job market, and transferable skills, applicable in various professional and social contexts, such as the ability to find and select information, critical thinking, teamwork or communication. The courses have been designed to focus on hands-on, practical training by using modern teaching methods such as design thinking, role-playing, flipped classroom, webquest or business and financial simulation. Other benefits of the Digital Economy degree programme include:
- Company visits
- Lectures given by experienced business practitioners
- An integrated curriculum covering all aspects of Industry 4.0
- An opportunity to build business relationships
- A six-month-long business internship
- An interdisciplinary programme of study combining economics, management and information technology
- An opportunity to get a Google Ads/Google Analytics certification (during the first cycle of studies)
The Digital Economy programme is available at two levels of study. The first cycle of studies leads to a degree of licencjat (Bachelor’s degree) and can be followed by the second cycle programme leading to a degree of magister (Master’s degree) in Digital Economy.
