We recently reported that State Street Bank’s office in Gdańsk celebrated its one year anniversary. It seemed like a great opportunity to learn from a company representative about the office’s plans for the future and upcoming recruitment projects. Read on if you want to join them in their fabulous location by the sea.

Office activity profile

State Street Bank has announced that they are going to hire 500 employees for their Gdańsk location. You will be a valuable asset to the company if you can see yourself in one of its departments experiencing the most significant growth at the moment. These include Fund Accounting, with primary focus on clients from Italy, the UK and Ireland, FLOD Team, Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS), middle office operations, transfer agency and Private Equity Real Estate.

Who are they looking for?

If these fields of activity sound appealing, and you are a student or graduate interested in finance, do consider joining State Street Bank. They are open to hiring young people with limited experience, provided they speak English fluently. Knowing Italian, German or French is another big advantage, along with strong motivation to work in financial services.

We are also very interested in employing young people with analytical skills, especially applied mathematics graduates, who can join us for the positions of Quantitative Analysts and other roles within our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) departments, says Magdalena Mardosz, PR & Marketing Manager at State Street Bank Polska.

On the other hand, experienced professionals are still in demand for financial services, such as audit, governance, fund accounting, securities valuation, Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS), middle office operations, transfer agency and Private Equity Real Estate.

Open to foreigners & relocation

State Street Bank is actively looking for new workforce not only in Poland, but also abroad – they hire employees from Ukraine, Lithuania or Italy. There are no specific positions dedicated to foreigners – if you come from abroad, you can fill any vacancy provided you fulfill other requirements. At the moment, the office in Gdańsk employs 37 foreigners and still counting. After the Brexit vote, the company is also hoping that some Polish professionals currently working in the UK will decide to come back to Poland.

The company stresses mobility in all its forms – present employees are also encouraged to relocate to other State Street Bank units, where they can help build new teams or participate in exciting new projects.
