The average salaries in the Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics sector have remained unchanged since last year, according to Hays 2020 salary guide. However, as observed in the report, the industry has seen a growing demand for soft skills (strategic thinking, leadership qualities) and fluency in foreign languages, which may increase the starting salary for sales and procurement professionals. The logistics sector, on the other hand, continues its technological advancement and seeks professionals with relevant technical experience in order to meet the demands of the fast-paced industry. A shortage of suitable candidates, however, is likely to become the number one challenge faced by most employers.
