Recruitment trends in the Polish IT industry

There was a time when moving to the IT industry was considered a universally smart move. The companies in this business tempt the employees with the promise of remote work, flexible working hours, and, most importantly, high earning potential.

But the last two years, with their unprecedented layoffs in the IT industry, have proven that perhaps some technology companies expanded beyond their limits. In 2023, the echo of the job cuts in the global giants like Google or Twitter resounded in Poland. It limited the number of new recruitments, as foreign investors started to take a considerably more cautious approach to this topic.

Still, according to the Hays’ 2024 Salary Report, IT remains a tempting perspective for those seeking employment. When asked which specializations the companies are most likely to recruit for in 2024, IT unchangingly remains at the very top of the list (36%). What is more, 93% of IT Tech enterprises declare that they plan to hire new talents in 2024.

Moreover, those working in the information technology industry seem to be quite upbeat about their professional perspectives (70%) – the only specialists more optimistic than them are Life Sciences specialists (77%).

That might be because even at in worst moment in 2023, the demand for IT specialists remains very high.
