About the role:
The position will be responsible for the sourcing activities for processing equipment, MRO, and related services and energy. The chosen candidate will lead strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver long-range programs for processing equipment, MRO, and capital services contracts that support the operational requirements of the regional Supply Chain, as well as Spot Buys for Capex purchases on an ad-hoc basis. Working with regional Engineering teams and cooperating with global Project Managers, the candidate will develop sourcing strategies that meet the costs and timelines of identified projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop long-range sourcing plans for the CapEx & MRO assigned categories, demonstrating a hands-on approach to achieving strategic goals.
- Forge contractual programs with suppliers, focusing on the goal of reducing the total cost of ownership achieved through a long-term oriented supply base.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimize equipment specifications which maximizes processing output.
- Develop sub-category strategies that contribute toward the goals.
- Mentor internal customers on the application of contracted programs.
- Manage medium to complex projects as assigned.
- Implement standardized sourcing processes, create regional/global supply agreements, and provide budgetary support for capital equipment.
- Support multiple facilities within the region with the ongoing CapEx project purchases (RFx, Analysis, Negotiation & Award processes).
- Evaluate an encompassing program with integrated suppliers of the assigned categories.
- Responsible for commercial terms and conditions.
- Backfill Head of Capex & MRO Sourcing Category when required.
About you:
- A minimum Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
- Similar sourcing experience of a minimum of 7 years with centralized sourcing of technical goods and solid expertise in Electricity and Natural Gas sourcing activities is desired.
- Project Management experience preferably in a multi-plant or international environment.
- A proven background in RFI / RFP procedures for capital equipment sourcing and the MRO field.
- An understanding of capital equipment projects and being able to support initiatives with cost analysis.
- Exhibit strong negotiation skills, a hands-on attitude, and self-motivation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across various plants simultaneously with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior procurement experience in the food processing, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries is essential.
- Fluency in English.
- Knowledge of the French language will be considered as a plus.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to simultaneously address multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills across multiple levels of an organization.
