Your responsibilities


Have you got first experience in Finance or just graduated and want to progress your career in Finance? Does your motivation go along with analytical skills as well as good comprehension of MS Excel? Then we strongly encourage you to consider applying for the role of Junior Accountant at Shell, where you will be involved in accounting processes such as Accounting Payable, Accounting Receivable and Contract & Pricing with the possibility to develop in other sub-processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Posting the invoices.
  • Ensuring correct invoice/PO matching.
  • having a good understanding of the vendor set-up and payment process to ensure vendors are paid 'first time right.'
  • managing and answering vendor and customer queries in an organized and prompt manner.
  • issuing the invoices.
  • Accruals preparation & reversal.
  • Working to achieve weekly and monthly team goal/ KPI.
  • reviewing and action balances of AP accounts.
  • Contract & Pricing activities.
  • Supporting increasing process automation and efficiency.
  • Resolving process issues with help of other teams, both within and outside Finance as well as with support from Process Experts.
  • Taking part in operational calls.
  • Maintaining business knowledge to ensure business requirements are appropriately assimilated into functional process designs.
  • Supporting and advocate efforts of continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring appropriate process documentation, roles and procedures.
  • Promoting and facilitate sharing and adoption of process management best practice; provide training as needed (sessions with Process Owner, Cross Process Area Management forums, Process Area Councils, other training sessions etc.).
  • Managing and meeting multiply deadlines.

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in economic, accounting or finance area or equivalent accounting courses.
  • Experience in relevant accounting environment is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting system is desirable.
  • Business level English (written and oral) is a must.
