Job description:
The R&A Accountant will focus on operational excellence in the delivery of their process responsibilities. They will build a deep knowledge of the outputs required and ways of working to deliver these, along with the tools and systems that are an integral enabler of the process. They will work collaboratively with colleagues in R&A and their peers from other processes where operational excellence or data integrity impacts on the R&A delivery. The role will have a mix of deliverables between accounting and reporting.

Accountabilities:

Responsibilities could include any of the following tasks, mainly related toFixed Asset Accounting activities for Tunisia Asset:

  • Performing month-close activities;
  • Supporting processes to ensure timely closure of ledgers;
  • Performing analyst role in balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Posting month end related journals;
  • Understanding and supporting specialized requirements for fixed asset in Upstream business;
  • Operating all internal controls in line with Work Instructions and the Group controls framework;
  • Participating in R&A special projects & timely and effective responding to special data/project requests;
  • Maintaining depreciation rates;
  • Monitoring work in progress & capitalizing assets on request
  • Supporting SOX documentation maintenance;
  • Ensuring that all relevant Shell and SSSC standards and guidelines are met, all in compliance with SOX rules and guidelines;
  • Inputting information into systems, maintaining and updating account records;

Manage interfaces with FO and Non FO stakeholders effectively, build end to end perspective Special Challenges/requirements:
  • Build trust and confidence in cooperation within Finance Operations
  • Exceptionally strong team-working across the process area is essential
  • Cooperation with multiple stakeholders
  • Necessity to constantly update knowledge within finance
  • Work in process heavily loaded towards deadlines
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have experience of Accounting, Financial Controls, Reporting and Analysis.

Additional skills we Look for:
- Min. 3 years of experience in accounting environment, with experience is several accounting processes.
- Obtained economic, accounting or finance university degree/qualifications
- Good understanding of financial and management accounting,
- GAAP and IFRS accounting Standards and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of accounting controls
- Good working knowledge of Word, Ms Outlook,
- Profound
knowledge of Excel
- Ability to recognize issues, attempt resolution and escalate problems if unable to resolve;
- Good analytical competences;
- Very good English (written ad oral)
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills
- Positive influencing skills and flexible co-operative approach
